Mel graduated from the School of Graphic Arts in Sydney, majoring in Design and Typography.
After her first tv campaign won ad of the year and campaign of the year at The Australian Television Awards, she decided to try her luck overseas, armed with nothing but a pair of Gucci stilettos and a suitcase. Those Gucci’s took her from Sydney to London, Paris and Dubai where she worked at some of the world’s best agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi, Ogilvy, TBWA, DDB and now upon her return to London, she is Associate Creative Director at Saatchi Masius.
Her clients are diverse, with everything from Mercedes Benz, Dove and Shangri-La Hotels to Nike, PONDS and WWF. From concept to production, her passion for craft is evident in everything she does and she strongly believes strategic collaborations are what enhance every idea and campaign.
In a career spanning over 18 years, Mel has moved from a traditional advertising background into a truly media agnostic way of thinking. Her passion for creating truly 360 campaigns for clients and her conviction in great ideas, has contributed in her working for over 100 brands, receiving over 50 nominations for her work and winning 22 awards globally. She was invited to speak on a panel at Advertising Week Europe and been a judge on The Ultimate Canvas sponsored by Primesight.
Her love of cocktails has led to her and her partner travelling the world to interview barmen for their blog LeCocktailConnoisseur and with a weakness for shoes and eclairs she hopes one day to combine the two and create a line of edible footwear.
